In my opinion Madrid is one of the world’s most amazing cities. In the heart of this great city is the grand Retiro Park, and this particular park made me fall in love with this city. This park also known as Buen Retiro Park once belonged to the Spanish Monarchy however was opened to the public in the 19th century, thankfully. Visitors can enjoy majestic and beautiful monuments, vast gardens and the mini lake in the middle of this enormous park which you can hire rowing boats. My friends and I visited this park everyday during our trip to Madrid during the summer of 2011 and it was filled with gorgeous and young people everywhere enjoying picnics or just sun tanning around the lake which we did where you can spot some of the most attractive Spanish people you’ll ever see casually riding there bikes, playing a game of soccer or relaxing under a tree. The vibe of Retiro Park cannot even be justified by words; the heat of the summer and the glamour of the park brought it to life more than any other park I’ve visited in Europe. If you are to travel to Madrid in the summer this is has to be on the sightseeing agenda to really experience a day out in the Spanish capital.
